Description
Dog Breed: Xoloitzcuintle/Mexican Hairless (long coat). Adoption Fee: 200.00. Please understand that we get many applications for our available dogs. We review each application and do our absolute best in choosing a home that best suits each dog and his/her needs and personality. Meet Percy! Yes, he is a long haired Xolo, while he isn't hairless and has longer hair than the typical coated Xolo, let me assure you, he has ALL the traits of a Xolo! He is 11 years old. Percy is up to date on vaccines, neutered, housebroken and unfortunately has been debarked. He is crate trained, but you will need an extra clip as he opens crates to let himself out! Percy is a very smart companion that loves sleeping in bed and will make someone an awesome companion!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
