Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300. Megaesophagus doesn’t stop me from being mega-sweet, mega fun, and mega-ready for a family! I’m a silly, squeak-toy loving 40 lb boy and I’ve been waiting over 2 years for my forever home because people overlook me due to my medical condition! My foster mom says I’m incredible with kids, full of personality, and ready to make every day brighter. I have megaesophagus, which means I need to eat a little differently (I have my own chair!!) - but it doesn’t stop me from being the loyal, cuddly companion your family will adore. I share my foster home with two kids -- one’s my cuddle buddy and playmate, and I couldn’t be happier about it! I also love hanging out with other dogs and even get along just fine with the cat in the house. I’m not the reactive type - I like meeting new people, especially men which my foster mom says is unusual for us foster dogs! Car rides? Count me in. Lounging around the house? Nailed it! I’m 100% great in the house, never have any accidents. I am on the lookout for any spare food but can be content with my favorite toys instead. Honestly, I’m a pretty easy going guy who’s just waiting to bring some extra joy (and squeaks) into my forever family's life. What about that Megaesophagus? My esophagus doesn’t do its job to move the food down to my stomach, so gravity helps me out when I sit in my special chair. My foster mom has done all the hard work of finding out the easiest and be st way to feed me, and my condition is really well managed and mild. I come with complete easy to use instructions and my own chair (which I hop right into - no problem!)! I can have some forms of dog treats and I drink water like the rest of the dogs. I take two pills daily, but they are cheap to purchase and I take them with a pill pocket. The food I eat is found in most pet and grocery stores and is as easy to feed as kibble (no blending or mixing required!).
