Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua. Meet Buddy! - Two brothers abandoned at Baldwin Park Shelter. They were so loving, so gentle that instead of being euthanized they were sent to a rescue in hopes of a 2nd chance. But no one came. Day after day they have waited-- staring at the kennel door searching for the people who left them behind but no one ever walked through. Right before their time was up we stepped in because these boys aren't done loving. They're about 8-9 years old but their hearts are young and full of hope. Watching them together is pure magic, they argue like siblings, cuddle like puppies, and shower each other with kisses. They love their walks together, sunbathing and most of all just being next to their person. Buddy is the more independent adventurer but ALWAYS checks in on his brother Charlie. He loves long walks, pushing Charlies buttons and then calming Charlie down with kisses. Its clear someone once cherished them. We don't know what happened but we do know this: they are still waiting. Waiting for love, for home. Two dogs aren't twice the work- they're twice the love! And Charlie and Buddy are as easy and sweet as they come. Please, if you have space in your heart and home adopt these boys. Give them the family they so deperately miss because this time they deserve to know that love never leaves.

Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
