Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Please meet Zay Zay. This 4 year old heeler mix has a sad story to tell. After being chained outside his entire life his owner surrendered him to us when he was moving. He no longer had a place for Zay Zay but the inside dog in the family was not being left behind. Even though Zay was treated as nothing more than a lawn ornament, he starred down the driveway of our rescue and cried and cried for days after his owner drove away. Zay can be selective with his canine pals so a meet and greet is necessary.. He is so loving and wants to please his people. He needs someone that will be patient and help him learn how to live indoors. He needs a hero to show him how life is supposed to be. If you would open your heart and home to Zay you would see and feel how rewarding it is to change a life of a dog. " Saving one dog will not change the world but it will surely change the world for that one dog." Apply today on our website! The link is below. anotherchancerescuega.rescuegroups/forms

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
