Description
Dog Breed: American Bulldog (short coat). This beefy bubba is the very best boy! No need to worry about his bonus size, this gentle giant has excellent manners already - leash trained on a no-pull harness, housetrained, and knows his sit and down commands. For your entertainment, he is a master at catching treats! For his entertainment, he asks you get him the biggest toys you can find (horse toys could be just right!) - otherwise he will make everything into a toy. He and his super-sized toys must have a yard and that yard needs a solid, strong privacy fence. REQUIRED: He is a strong boy who needs things to do or he will find things to do. No kids or folks with mobility issues. Strong, solid privacy fenced yard. And while, yeah, we could have photoshopped the drool out of his pictures, let's be honest...when Herc goes home, his drool is coming with him. ~ Est DOB: Aug 2019 ~ Est weight: 100# + ~ Adoption details/application: calhouncountyhs.blogspot/p/adopt.html

Breed overview

American Bulldog
Overview:
Originally used in the 17th century for bull baiting—a wagering sport in which dogs fought bulls in a ring—Bulldogs had taller, more athletic frames (much like the Olde English Bulldogge). When bull baiting was outlawed in 1835, Bulldogs were bred to be kinder, heavier and more relaxed. However, American Bulldogs—which were brought to the U.S. before this breeding pattern—retained the size and strength of the original Bulldogs. Great family dogs, American Bulldogs are sweet to children. They love family-oriented occasions and want to be involved. With proper training and socialization, you’ll find them outgoing and exceedingly loyal. Some American Bulldogs will go to great lengths to protect their masters. Tough and determined, American Bulldogs have an impressive stamina and strength. They are always game for playtime in the back yard or working in the field.
