Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Mirage is a sweet pup currently working hard on her training and building her confidence. She is learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. Every day brings new progress, and she's making strides with the help of her foster family. Mirage is potty-trained, leash-trained, and crate-trained. When she’s not training, you’ll find Mirage happily immersed in play or lounging contentedly on the couch—life is all about balance for this sweet pup. Mirage gets along with other dogs but needs slow introductions. Mirage is looking for a patient, loving family who will continue to support her as she builds on this amazing progress. If you're ready to welcome a loyal and affectionate companion into your life, Mirage would love to meet you!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
