Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie (long coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Penny came to us from a breeder in southern West Virginia. It has taken her a little time to get acclimated to living indoors. She is a very laid-back Yorkie And prefers to spend her days snuggled in a nice, comfy dog bed. She absolutely has to have a fenced in yard and would prefer to have someone home during the day or with another dog. She has been working on her house, training skills and learning how to go in and out side to the back yard. Because she has lived most of her life outside. She enjoys being out in a fenced in area. penny has had multiple litters of puppies and she is now ready to relax and just be someone's pet.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
