Bailey's guardian adds: "Bailey does have a brother who is also available for adoption; they could go together, as they are a bonded pair, or separately. Bailey is very loving, loves attention and cuddling. She deserves someone to be there for her and spend time with her and play. She can be your best friend! She knows 'sit', 'stay', and 'high five'. She dislikes/fears gates; during car rides, she's initially nervous but eventually calms down. Bailey's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her: "Living situation has changed with no one home all day to care for him." Baiey's guardian offers a brief a medical history: Bailey vomited for 1.5 days after she received her rabies vaccination 2 years ago. Her guardian is unsure if she will again become ill when they update her rabies vaccine in the future. Bailey's guardian states the following regarding children: Bailey lives with older children, so her guardian recommends her living with only older children. Bailey's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Bailey lives with Cooper (her bonded canine brother), sot her guardian recommends her living with Cooper, stating "Not really been around other dogs except Cooper". Bailey's guardian states the following regarding cats: Bailey hasn't lived with or otherwise been around cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats. Bailey's guardian describes her as follows: Playful Friendly Shy Likes to be touched Affectionate Indoor dog House-Trained Likes men Likes women Separation anxiety Bailey's guardian described her ideal future home: Rehoming Fee: $150 (negotiable) Location: Damascus, MD ***** ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
