Description
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Kenny loves when the peanut butter box is here! He was born around 2/7/21 and had the bad luck of being owned by someone who tied him up and let his collar grown into his neck. They then tied him to a goal post because they did not have the nerve to surrender him to be safe, Gotta love people! He is an affectionate boy who walks well on the leash and is desperate for attention, once he is comfortable. He does start off shy. He is crate trained, knows basic commands and is undergoing training and he LOVES to please his people. Now he is with a cat rescue HaHa!! We just know there is a home out there for this wonderful dog. Black cats! Black dogs! what ya gonna do? Adopt One, that's what!! He has not been exposed to cats but he ignores dogs on his walks and has only shown a tail wag and happy to meet ya! when in closer contact. email us at animalrescuecarolinayahoo for an application or to meet Kenny.

Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
