Description
Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Remember the Armstrong 6?! I'm one of them. Meet me, Baby Girl a 9 year-old female mixed- breed dog that weighs around 60 lbs. I am spayed and current on vaccines. Despite my age, I still has some energy and likes to fetch squeaky toys in the back yard! I also loves walks. I am a very sweet dog who enjoys belly rubs and lots of love in general. I am excellent with young kids (my human foster sibs are 4 and 6), I love their pets and that they play with me! We think I was once an inside dog because I know a few basic commands (sit, down, come, etc). I need some work with leash walking but I am familiar with it. I am really still learning that the crate is a safe space since I spent most of my time outside and will require continued work in this area. I likely will be able to live in a home with cat with a slow introduction. There are two cats in my foster home that I am gradually learning to ignore. I will be best as the only dog as living life outside has me craving human attention. Baby Girl is available now, Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale PA 15144 KL #16182

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
