Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Charlotte aka Lotte! Age: approx 9 years. Breed: pit bull mix. Size: approx 45-50lbs. Training: leash and crate trained, she is doing well with house training. Good with dogs/cats? She can be dog selective, but she coexists well. Good with men/women/kids? Yes! She loves EVERYONE! Personality: friendly, affectionate. Loves to cuddle. Reason for rescue: Charlotte was turned into a kill shelter after her owners claimed she bit them. This sweet girl isn't aggressive AT ALL. But because they claimed that, the shelter marked her rescue only and she was scheduled to be killed if no rescue stepped up. A foster volunteered to save her just in time. We don't know the situation surrounding Lotte's surrender. We do know from experience, sometimes people lie to make themselves look better when getting rid of their dog. Come meet Lotte and decide for yourself. She is the sweetest girl! Lotte is spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped and current on vaccinations and preventatives. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
