Description

Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $400. Online Adoption Application › Typical, Loving, Goofball Husky Luka is a 4 year old Husky. He is very vocal and stubborn. He loves to do the opposite of what you tell him to do. Despite all of this he is an extremely affectionate dog. He wants to be where his people are and he wants them petting him! He just doesn't want to listen to commands! Luka is good with other dogs but needs time to adjust. He LOVES any female dog. Luka is a little overweight and could stand to lose a few pounds. He would do great in a house that loves walks or playing in the backyard. Luka loves to play but can't be left in the backyard by himself. He has escaped from his previous homes fence because he wants to be with his people. He does great in a crate and is fine at home by himself when crated. Luka has met children at adoption events and does great! He would do best with older children that respect a dogs space but will also love on him. He has been great at his foster home! His foster mom reports he has has no behavior issues except one time at the vet. When they tried to draw blood he did not like it! Can you blame him? Luka loves to play. He will play with any toy or any dog. He loves to chase after the ball. As mentioned before his favorite thing in the world is to be loved on. He loves to be pet and just be with his people. Luka's biggest issue is he still likes to mark in his foster house. He is on a crate and rotate system at fosters house due to the amount of dogs present. The foster believes when he gets more regular walks and more time out of the crate he will excell in house training! Luka will make any family or single person happy. He loves his people and just needs someone willing to love him back. You can apply to adopt me here: .pawfectmatch/info/adoption

Siberian Husky

A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:

The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
