Heidi would make a great Mal for an active family home or maybe even a sport home. She is one of the sweetest, most well behaved dogs you’ll ever meet! She LOVES learning new things and loves pleasing her human. Heidi is VERY versatile and would love to learn more obedience commands and possibly some scent work and dock diving! She loves water, plays fetch, loves her ball, and loves to cuddle! Heidi needs a dog experienced home that will keep structure in Heidi's life and give her lots of outlets for her mind and body. She is not a dominant dog and loves playing with other dogs. Heidi has become much more confident thanks to her foster mom and has learned many new commands while in her care! She is now considered a well trained dog! Heidi loves to have zoomies in the yard and will make you forget how old she is - and it’s probably one of the cutest things you’ll ever see! Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
