Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed. AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Beau was found wandering a Fontana neighborhood. He was dirty and matted and his nails were curling back into his paws. He luckily found himself in the yard of a long=time animal lover and fosterer. He was posted on several sites and no one claimed this old man as theirs/ He had no microchip. This old man still has some good years left in him. As an old man Beau has had some health issues he has had a prolapse. It was repaired and he doing much better. The vet recommends using laxatives daily to prevent ptoblems. He is permanently on lactalise medication and adopters must be willing to take this expense on. Adoption fees include up to date on vaccines, treatment for fleas and worms, spay, chip implantation and initial registration. petstablished/adoption_form/32026/generic You can meet him at Fontana Petco on Sundays from 12-4. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
