Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Rottweiler (medium coat). Ziva was born around July 1, 2012 and weighs a bit too much at 97 pounds. Ziva is with us because her human has health issues that prevented him from giving her the best life possible. Ziva rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash. Ziva is wonderful with other dogs, cats, and kids, but has too much interest in chickens to live with any. Ziva will need a fenced yard or leash walks as she tends to follow her nose when off leash. Ziva adores her humans and loves to observe from a comfy spot as you complete your daily chores. Even though Ziva is on the older side she does not show any signs of discomfort in her joints yet and gets around just fine. This sweet girl is ready for her happily ever after! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $250.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
