Description
Dog Breed: Black Labrador Retriever. Adoption Fee: 450.00. This absolutely stunning fellow is searching for an active family who wants a great companion. Romeo is a very strong puppy who we feel the sky is the limit. He is eager to please but definitely needs work and consistency. We aren’t sure exactly how old he is but he is definitely young. He may do ok with another female dog in the home who is ok living with a pushy brother. Romeo says no cats please. Sadly, Romeo was another victim who was found stray and never claimed. We believe he deserves people and a place to call his own. He will need someone who can handle his strength and give him a lot of exercise, consistency and training. When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. We look at each and every application that comes into our rescue in attempts to make the perfect match! This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. Applications are found on our website .onedogatatime.us. Romeo Kennel #18167 Lewistown PA

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
