Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (long coat). Banzai (TX) is a female thought to be Shepherd mix rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Banzai is 1 years old at the time of intake in July 2023. Banzai is good with people and other dogs. Banzai has spent much of her young life on the streets of Texas which is no place for a sweet girl like her. Her foster reports Banzai TX is a pure bundle of love, looking for her forever family. She is up to date on shots, fully house broken, socializing well with other dogs, she loves walks and playing in the yard. She has grown a lot since I have had her, about 40-45 lbs now and a yr old. She will make you smile and laugh all day long. Do you think that you can provide Banzai the life she deserves? If you can, please apply online to adopt Banzai (TX) at .rescuedogsrocknyc. RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue. All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
