Description
Dog Breed: Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie (medium coat). Animal Description Header Ollie can be a real love. He is a bit shy at first but does come around. Sometimes he does have a lot to say but when asked to tone it down he will. Thunderstorms are scary for him. Ollie does like going for car rides with his humans and is a very good passenger! He is also on the taller side for shelties. Ollie is obedience trained for general living purposes. He is also quick to respond when called to come in from the back yard. He likes his crate and easily goes in there when he is home alone. He loves to play with his toys and can be easily distracted with his toys! Ollie will also sit and lay by you while working, watching TV or reading or sleeping. He loves to share your pillow. He gets along with most dogs. Meet the right dog and he can play for hours. Ollie is currently on sensitive stomach food although so far our rescue has not seen any issues. Ollie will also require a fenced in yard. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
