Birthdate: 04/20/2022 Breed: One of a kind Weight: 70 lbs Check out My Video: Rollin’ into happiness Meet Garlic – Your New Best Friend with a Heart of Gold! With a muscular build and a perfectly imperfect off-centered forehead stripe, Garlic is the picture of charm and character. This stoic yet sweet pup has a goofy streak that’ll steal your heart in an instant. He’s the kind of dog who reminds you to slow down and enjoy the little things—like sniffing every flower on your walk or soaking up the sun with a smile on his face. Garlic is a total toy enthusiast, showing off his gentle manners and his impressive Olympic-worthy jumps whenever his favorite ball comes out. And when playtime’s over? He’s all about leaning in for some back scratches and good company. Grateful for every friend he meets, Garlic is ready to find someone who’ll love strolls, sunshine, and snuggles just as much as he does - and a hike with endless scents and sights? His dream come true! One of our lovely volunteers wanted to share a little bit more about our Garlic. "Garlic is a sweet, gentle boy, who would play all day if you let him. He enjoys fetch and will almost hand the ball back to you . He also likes to play tug. Garlic walks nicely on the leash, and loves to sit beside you to enjoy lots of pets, he is the best boy ever!" If Garlic were a destination, he’d be Italy — bursting with life, color, and curiosity at every turn. Like Italy, he’s full of joy and warmth, always inviting you to slow down and savor the moment. He has that irresistible charm that makes you fall in love without even realizing it. Exploring with Garlic is like wandering cobblestone streets and sunlit hills — every corner holds something new, vibrant, and full of heart. Once you’ve experienced his companionship, you’ll carry the memory with you forever. Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!! Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at pawscrossedny/dog-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptionspawscrossedny for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxador, a popular designer dog, is a lively crossbreed resulting from the union of a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Originating in North America, this hybrid was developed to combine the best traits of its parent breeds, creating a loyal and energetic companion. Physically, Boxadors are medium to large-sized dogs with a muscular build, typically weighing between 50-80 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, varying in color from brindle and fawn to black and chocolate, often displaying the distinctive Boxer mask or the gentle Lab expression. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly social, making them excellent family pets that thrive on interaction. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they require regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and heart conditions like aortic stenosis.
