Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois (medium coat). Junior is an energetic and intelligent young Belgian Malinois with a striking appearance and an impressive athletic build. Junior is a highly driven and motivated dog, always eager to learn and please. He thrives on physical activity and mental stimulation, making him an ideal companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. When he isnât training he enjoys going on long walks, rolling around in the dirt, and belly scratches! Junior has received basic obedience training and is quick to pick up new commands. However, due to his high energy levels and strong drive, he requires an experienced owner who can provide him with consistent training and firm yet positive guidance. Junior excels in tasks that require focus and precision, such as agility and obedience. His ideal owner will be someone who can provide him with plenty of physical exercise, mental challenges, and opportunities to work. Junior would thrive in a home where he has a job to do, whether it's participating in dog sports or simply being a loyal and active companion. If you are interested in adopting Junior please contact our Behavior and Flow Coordinator Erica Jackson at ericajhsvc.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
