Description
Dog Breed: Terrier. Hi, I’m Antoine but my friends call me Andy, for short. I’m around 2 years old and am a lab mix, possibly with Catahoula or hound. I’ve got a great nose for sniffing out all the fun! I’ve adjusted like a champ to this new household, which has 3 other large dogs and 3 adults. I’m 55 pounds and know how to sit, stay, and shake. I am crate trained, house trained, and am learning all the ins and outs of inside manners. I sleep soundly through the night at the foot of the bed, dreaming of treats and belly rubs. My foster family says I’m a smarty paws, eager to please, and that I learn quickly. I walk well on a leash with some occasional redirection. I like to go for rides and am a very good boy in the car, ready for an adventure anytime. I have recently been neutered and am fully recovered from that and am about to start treatment to get rid of these pesky heartworms. I’m still young with lots of energy, so I need regular walks or a yard to run and play. I also still enjoy playing with chew toys. I’m sweet, affectionate, and very social. Finding my furever family will be a dream come true. So, if you’re looking for a snuggle buddy, a walking partner, and a playful sidekick, I’m your guy! I can’t wait to meet you and begin making wonderful memories together!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
