Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Hound / Mixed (short coat). DOB: 09/20/2016 Hi there, my name is Bishop, and I am looking for my forever home. My foster mom says that I couldn't hurt a fly. I am such a loving, gentle, snuggly soul. Although I am 7 years old, I believe that I am 7 years young. I love to meet new people, go on adventures, go on walks, and just spend all my time with people. Oh, also, I LOVE CAR RIDES!!!! I have been around all kinds of people, from kids to adults and I love them all. I have also been around dogs and cats, and like them too. I really am just a lovebug and as my foster mom also says: I am petite and sweet. If you are interested in adding such a chill, laid-back, lover of car rides, complete love bug to your family, I'm your guy! Please don't hesitate to email RUFF for more information on me, and for a meet and greet. I look forward to being a part of your family. (KG/AF*) Up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Adoption Fee: $100.00

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
