Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $250. Hi I am Briggs Stratton, nice to meet you! I am a three and a half year old neutered 35lb red heeler mix. I am such a sweetheart! I am a devoted, loving dog who will be the best companion. It takes me some time to trust my people, but once I do, I give you my heart. I love to cuddle! I am great in my crate, I am potty trained, have no toy or food aggression, and love other dogs with proper introductions . I would thrive in a home with another dog that I can run and play with every day. Besides my foster family, my trainer is my favorite person. He has taught me to be less fearful. I am a champ on leash, know the “place” command, and have great recall. I am a very well trained dog,but I would love for my new family to keep up with training. I want to continue being the best dog that I can be. An adult only home or home with older kids would be best for me. I have never met a cat, but because of my breed, I would most likely want a cat free home. I really am a sweet dog that deserves a forever family. My foster family loves me and wants to find me the perfect home. bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
