Description
Dog Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (medium coat). How to Adopt Meet Autumn! Autumn is a 6-month-old Cavalier King Charles with a gentle heart and a curious spirit. Though a bit shy at first, she loves to explore at her own pace and blossoms into a playful pup as her confidence grows. Autumn adores other dogs, is great with cats, and, once she feels at ease, is an absolute sweetheart who loves being around her people. Like all puppies, she will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give her valuable learning skills but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Autumn is fully vetted. She has been spayed, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of her adopter. Her adoption donation is $1200.00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so she wants to be sure her family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Autumn, please fill out an application for adoption on our website at: .rescuetailsanimalwelfare/info/adoption We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at: RescueTailsAnimalWelfaregmail. If you aren’t looking to adopt but still would like to help Autumn, please consider a donation for her food, housing, and veterinary care. To donate, please visit: .rescuetailsanimalwelfare

Overview:
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is an enchanting toy breed with a rich history, originating from the spaniels depicted in paintings of the 16th to 18th centuries and popularized by King Charles II. They are characterized by their gentle, affectionate temperament, making them exceptional companions. Physically, Cavaliers are small yet sturdy, typically weighing between 13-18 pounds, with a silky, medium-length coat that comes in various color patterns including Blenheim (chestnut and white), tricolor, black and tan, and ruby. Their signature features include a slightly domed head, large expressive eyes, and long feathered ears. Cavaliers are known for being adaptable and eager to please, thriving in both family environments and apartment living due to their moderate exercise needs and loving nature. They generally get along well with children and other pets, fitting seamlessly into most households. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain breed-specific health concerns, such as heart conditions (mitral valve disease) and syringomyelia, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
