Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Golden Retriever / Mixed. Daphne is an adorable 1-year-old, 47-pound German Shepherd mix with a light brown, short coat and boundless energy. This playful pup is already house-trained and crate-trained, though she prefers not to spend extended periods in her crate. Daphne has a lively personality and thrives with regular exercise. She loves running, throwing her toys for herself, and spinning in circles when she gets excited—it’s impossible not to smile around her! While she’s shy at first, Daphne warms up quickly and will become your loyal shadow, following you everywhere. She’s still adjusting to new people, dogs, and environments. A confident resident dog in her new home is required to help her build confidence and continue learning. While she’s eager to meet other dogs, she likes to take her time to get comfortable and then she’s ready to play! She hasn’t been introduced to kids or cats, but her high prey drive may make her incompatible with feline friends. Daphne is happiest with an active family who can match her energy level and provide plenty of opportunities to play and explore. A home with a fenced yard is a must to let her stretch her legs safely. While she’s not particularly vocal, she may bark when unsure about something or whine if she misses out on a good squirrel chase! Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
