Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees (medium coat). Meet Leah! Born around early October 2023, this sweetie pie is fully grown at 60 pounds which puts her firmly in “Pocket Pyr” category. Leah came to us after being found on the street and taken to a local animal shelter. She was extremely thin, malnourished, and matted. She has recovered from her street life and transformed into an extraordinary beauty! Leah loves all people and goes right up to everyone, even strangers, to get lots of loving. She loves attention and will stick to you like Velcro when you are up and around in the home. She does great with young kids. She's been very friendly and had multiple young kiddos petting her at public events and soaked up every minute of it. Still being young and loving to play, Leah has a moderate amount of energy and will most likely continue to love playing into adulthood. Leah loves to play and cuddle with other dogs. She lives in a foster home with 6 other dogs and could do well in a home with or without other dogs. Because she was without food for so long, she is sometimes a little food aggressive with other dogs. She does fine when being introduced to new dogs when there is no food around. No cats! Leah does not like cats and seems determined to make a meal out of them. Her forever home should not have cats. She is great walking on leash and rarely pulls. She loves going for walks, but most of all loves playing in the backyard with the other foster dogs. Leah is house trained. She doesn’t bark at many things, except the trash truck. She is very easy to call inside from the backyard because of how much she loves people and their affection. She has been on a few car rides and has done well. She is crate trained although becomes restless when confined for extended periods of time. Leah has adjusted well to life as a pampered dog and will be a loving, loyal companion to the lucky family who welcomes her into their home. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.
