Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Husky (medium coat). I maybe a maverick but I’m not a gun slinger! I get all the saloon ladies with my looks. We are going to make sure that I’m not going to be carrying a full load. I believe in love not war. As you can see, I need to be brushed up but what do you expect from a hard working cowboy like me! I would like to beat the odds and come up with a poker full hand which to me is finding a great family. I’m ready to retire to the old hacienda. So come and get me at high noon! Here is what the crew has to say about me: Shep is a gentle soul that will appreciate a loving household. Shep is confident and outgoing. As you can see he even liked Santa. The boy likes other dogs too. Shep is around 3 years old and 52 pounds. So come on down to meet this amigo today. Please call Faustina at 806-664-1615 since she can give you details about the animals! If you call the Pampa animal shelter please refer to the animals by their number listed after the names. Thank you for you cooperation!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
