Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. This is Freya. This sweet girl was found abandoned at a local park on Thanksgiving morning. She had been left with her bed and dressed in three vests against the cold. Freya is very friendly and affectionate. She knows simple commands like sit and paw. She is house and crate trained. She is a loyal and loving companion. She attended an a adoption event and was so friendly to everyone she met. This sweet girl deserves a loving home! Her Foster Mom has this to say about Freya: If you are looking for a sassy pup that will follow you everywhere, demand lovings and talk back, then Fraya is your girl. She loves getting attention, walks and playtime, but be prepared to get an earfull and eye rolls if this diva doesn't get her cuddle time. Freya is a great companion and will be by your side everywhere you go. She would prefer to be an only dog as she craves all your attention! Be warned this girl will steal your heart. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
