Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Agnes is a really beautiful hound who is looking for a new home. She was found in NC with another dog and no one came to claim them. She's now in a NJ foster home. Agnes is described as a friendly girl who is a typical hound with her nose often to the ground smelling. This gentle girl has a lot of energy and needs exercise. But she also enjoys relaxing on the couch with her foster family to watch TV. This playful girl is dog and cat friendly. She will chase deer so a fenced yard and/or strong walker is best. She doesn't pull too hard but might start to chase a deer if seen. Agnes will be fixed, microchipped and up to date on rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. Agnes tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $450. How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to wagoninn.rescuegroups . Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
