Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. **Please note that Henry is a courtesy post and is not located at or affiliated with Paws Crossed Animal Rescue I'm Henry! I am 8 years old and weigh about 8lbs...I really am a good boy, once I get to know you I love love love you and will be by your side always. My foster mom says I can be a bit of a grump when I meet new people as I don't like strangers to pet me right away. But since being in a foster home, and meeting the big family of adults and little ones, I have learned that people I know I can love!! Also, my foster Mom realized I really don't hear well, so if you startle me I get scared, so slow and steady and letting me know you are there works wonders. I do respond to hand signals and will wait for you to motion to come:) But really, once I am comfy with you I'm sweet and very friendly, I promise! I have met all my foster family's kids and grandkids, and my foster furry cousins.... I really like all of them now.... it just takes me a little bit ot time to feel comfortable, so if you just don't try to pet or snuggle me right away and let me get to know you at my own pace...we'll be just fine. I know there is a chihuahua savvy person out there who will love me as much as my foster parents ( I really love my foster Dad, but don't tell my foster Mom I love him more cause she's really good to me too)... I would do great with a one or two person household, I don't need to have other small dogs in the family, but in my foster home I have 5 and am fine with them. I also have a big English Setter foster silbing who I am fine with, but sometimes I don't like Dad petting him tooooo much...lol. I also play with two of them and do zoomies with them, but then I like to snuggle in a bed, or by your side on the couch and take a nap. I really love sleeping in bed with you at night too...I am housetrained, and we have a fenced in yard for me to run around in. I would prefer a fenced in yard please.... I can be vocal when I want your attention or don't see you right away, so no apartments for me. So are you the person or persons for me??? Really, I am the bestest boy, I just want to be loved and love you back. I promise I will be your companion and love you forever...... Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
