Description
Dog Breed: Terrier. Despite his tough-guy name, Rambo is a gentle, affectionate soul with a calm and loving nature. He’s incredibly easy to handle—whether it’s walking on a leash or guiding him in and out of his kennel, Rambo makes everything feel effortless. He’s quick to settle into a routine, treat-motivated, and very smart. After yard time, he often beats his foster back to the kennel and patiently waits for his treat like the polite pup he is. Rambo has a laid-back, quiet demeanor that makes him an ideal companion. He loves his crate, takes things in stride, and has been an absolute pleasure to foster. While he hasn’t had formal introductions with other dogs yet, he seems non-reactive when around them. We’re still learning his favorite things, but so far Rambo is showing us just how sweet and special he is. If you’re looking for a relaxed, loving dog with a heart of gold, Rambo might just be your perfect match.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
