Description
Dog Breed: Boxer / Hound. Update description: Olga was adopted as a puppy from Hearts for Rescue. She was returned when she began jumping the owner's 3 ft fence as an adult. She is a good natured girl and loves to snooze on the couch with her humans or in her own chair. She does great with dogs of all sizes and loves to play with them. She is house trained and does fine in a 4 ft fence. She can be shy until she is used to someone new. She would be a great family dog. We have added her current pictures but left the original puppy pictures. Below: the original description Olga is a sweet mix breed girl. She is one of our parvo survivors who had a rough time. She is more laid back than her littermates and will be available for adoption after May 3rd.

A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
