Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Adoption Fee: $400. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Carol Aulick COURTESY POST: Waffles is a spayed female currently located in Maryland. Birthdate: April 5th, 2021. She is spayed, UTD on shots, and microchipped. She has some basic training. Sit, stay, come, heal. If you hide her “kong” she will find it. She is able to jump a 4 ft fence. He 1st owner purchased her as a puppy. At about a year old he passed away and Waffles was left in her kennel for approximately 1 weeks before they found him. She was brought back to health by her 2nd owner. While at her house, a cat came up to the back door and Waffles chased the cat, jumped her fence and caught the cat. She had killed a second cat in 2024 and that’s when I accepted her into my house to try to find her a home. Waffles is high energy. I had her evaluated and was told she’d be a great candidate for agility. Waffles is fine with other dogs over 30 pounds and with very slow introduction. She is also fine with people although wearing full face /head coverage does not sit well with her (as a new acquaintance). Waffles will follow you around the house like a magnet. She enjoys snuggles and just being with you. She also has been seen watching tv. She is crate trained but does sleep outside her crate once or twice a week. (Rotation with other dogs). She loves to play catch with her Kong but does not release the Kong to you. She does allow you to take it from her mouth. She needs a very good run at least once a day. Walks for about an hour. Good on a leash but I usually let her out for a walk in the field on a 100 ft lunge line before we do a walk on the leash. Waffles does not get along with my altered male Dutch Shepherd, Jinx. She gets along with my 2 female fosters and male unaltered German Shepherd. I have 3 dogs under 10 pounds that she has only had access if they or she is in their crate. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl a home, please contact Tracey via text at 443-536-4076 ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
