Description
Dog Breed: Bulldog (short coat). Meet Your New Best Friend! Looking for a loyal companion to brighten your days? Meet Fergus, a charming and well-behaved dog who is looking for a new home due to his humans having some serious health issues. Fergus is an absolute sweetheart who adores people of all ages, including children. He is 5 yrs old and 65 lbs. He’s spent time in a home for a while and has learned the ropes and is now a pro at being the best boy ever! Fergus is: • Well-trained: He knows commands like sit, stay, down, place, heel, and more! • Leash-savvy: Walks with Fergus are a dream—he’s got great manners on a leash. • Affectionate and loyal: Fergus thrives on love and will be your shadow, always ready to cuddle or play. Fergus would do best as the only animal in the house. While he’s fantastic with people, he prefers being the star of the show and isn’t a fan of sharing his space with other dogs or cats. Due to his breed, Fergus also has a sensitive stomach and after much trial and error, we have found a very good food for him. It will be necessary for you to continue feeding him veterinarian-prescribed food, Hills Science Diet Gastro Biome dry food If you’re looking for a faithful friend who’s ready to give you endless love and companionship, Fergus is the perfect match! He’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and lots of tail wags to your life. With a successful adoption of Fergus, his current humans will be providing the following as part of the adoption: • Oversized crate with bedding - where Fergus sleeps at night • Additional comfy bed for anywhere else in your home • Two cold weather jackets and one raincoat • Three six-foot nylon leashes • Fergus’ most favorite toys for your home • One full bag of Gastro Biohm Dry food Please apply to adopt Fergus at rescueridge and if your application is a possible match a volunteer will get back to you shortly. No inquiry, please, without an application.

Overview:
The Bulldog, often recognized by its distinctive pushed-in face and sturdy build, is a beloved breed with a rich history rooted in England. Originally bred for bull-baiting, their temperament has evolved significantly, making them gentle, affectionate companions today. Physically, Bulldogs are medium-sized, characterized by their broad shoulders, short legs, and loose, wrinkled skin. Their short coat typically comes in various colors and patterns. Despite their somewhat imposing appearance, Bulldogs possess a surprisingly sweet and docile nature, making them excellent family pets and remarkably well-suited for apartment living due to their lower energy levels. However, prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns, including brachycephalic airway syndrome, hip and elbow dysplasia, and skin fold dermatitis, which necessitate regular veterinary care and attention to their unique needs. Their calm disposition and moderate exercise requirements make them a wonderful choice for those seeking a loving and loyal companion.
