Whether it's chasing a ball, tugging on a rope, or trying out the latest squeaky toys (which are his favorite), CJ's love for toys knows no limits. This playful pup is full of curiosity and loves to explore everything around, making sure no toy is left unturned. Once CJ has exhausted all toys in his vacinity he will settle down and curl up for a well deserved nap. If you’re looking for a dog who’ll keep you on your toes and fill your days with laughter and love, CJ's the one! Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!! All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
