Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Briggs is a male hound mix. He is about 2 years old and 40lbs. He's loving, sweet and very playful. He would love to be a hiking buddy. He likes kids. He is good with other dogs. Briggs has a seizure disorder and is on medication for it. He will probably need to be on medication for the rest of his life. ~Adoption donation $400 . In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
