Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Adoption Fee: $541.88 (includes MN taxes). UPDATE 10.4.25 Hello everyone, I’m Falco! I am a very handsome and athletic young boxer, going on 4 years old this November. I have been with MNBR since about February and would really love to find my forever home. MNBR was so kind to send me to a professional obedience training for about 4 weeks. I did very well but my forever home will need to keep up with my training as I need consistency. I really love the treats and "good boy" I get when doing my obedience commands correctly. Each day I go out on a walk with my special collar and do what I am asked, sometimes I get distracted but with the right correction, I focus back to my task. I really do like to please. Every morning, I wake up, do my duties, eat my breakfast and then I get to play with all my toys. I LOVE TOYS. My foster mom has this HUGE toy box and I take every one of them out each morning! It's so fun. If I had my preference, I would sleep on the couch but I don't mind just going into my kennel and laying down for a nap. I feel very comfortable in my kennel and sleep in there at nighttime. Once I settle into my forever home, I would love to cuddle on the couch and hang out with my peeps. I am quite the cuddler! I have met a lot of people over the past month or so, I have done great with all of them. I just need to get over my excitement at first, calm down and then I will be fine. I need to eat separate from my brother or sister, that also goes for treats or any food. I am food motivated (which is great for training) but if another dog is around, I tend to be more food aggressive. Best not to allow that situation. Note, it's just other dogs, I don't mind it when my foster mom touches me while I am eating or puts her hand in my bowl to add more food or to take my bowl out of the kennel. I would be a great addition to someone's active life but also, I like my naps and downtimes too.

Breed overview
Boxer
A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
