Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 200. This scruffy little adorable 'Gremlin' is Nokosi or Niko. He was born around 4/12/18 we think and is a terrier mix who only weighs about 10 pounds. Nokosi is always happy and full of energy. He loves kisses & cuddles and at only 8-10 pounds, will even jump into your arms at a standing position. Niko is potty-trained. Niko doesn't really care for other dogs much and is standoffish until he gets to know you. We believe his ideal home would be someone who could spend a lot of time with Niko and give him their full attention. He does not do well with small children or very busy households. Niko was adopted out last year and his adopter passed away so he found his way back to us. Amazing Grace Bully Rescue is a foster based rescue in the Pensacola, Florida area. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
