Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Standard) (long coat). Adoption Fee: $1. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue:12/3/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release/breeder is downsizing Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Bingo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Bingo has grade 3 (which is considered mild or moderate) hip dysplasia. He does not need surgery at this time according to our veterinary partner. Bingo is currently comfortable with a sedentary life - lots of couch time and mild walks at a slow pace walk, not a run or even a jog. He likes to stop and smell the roses. He is living in our offices where his job is to greet visitors and help us test other dogs for compatibility (because Bingo loves everyone). He will require regular check-ups. He was on pain control but once we moved him away from the young dogs (who encouraged him to play too hard) he has been weaned off those. We recommend an omega 3 supplement (fish oil capsules work wonders) which is over the counter and has shown to help with mobility. Bingo is affectionate and happy with humans and dogs. Weight: 53 lbs and do not let him gain weight, he needs to maintain a good waistline. Height: 24 in est at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $1 - Bingo has special needs and is looking for a special home Fence needed? Bingo has always had a fence, but he could do without one with a lot of commitment to consistent leash walking. He can walk on a leash, but he is not crazy about it. He gets the concept - but he is a stay-at-home guy and really does not want to go far. What kind of home would be best for me? First off - experience. Bingo needs an adopter who knows and loves this breed. Bingo needs an adopter who can provide patience, time, and love. He will need a special person who can offer him a safe and loving environment. Bingo requires someone with an endless well of understanding, and someone who is committed to helping him grow into the confident, loving companion he’s meant to be. He is a "I have my dance space and you have your dance space" kind of guy. He is independent. At the same time, Bingo loves hanging in the offices with us. He loves being near to his human friends. It's not a clingy, separation anxiety kind of hanging out - more of an I am glad you are here low-key enthusiasm. We do think he's just looking for the treats but that's okay. He does not tear things up and he's now earned the right to be loose, hang out in his favorite chair and not be crated even when we are not around (including all night). Bingo has never known life without canine companionship. He would enjoy a very low-key dog to model after, but we think at this point, as long as you are home more than you are away, another dog is not absolutely required. Because he is not a touchy go, we think Bingo would be better off in a home with children 15 or older. He really prefers calm and consistent, and children are fun chaos. Bingo is fine with small dogs and cats. He’s looking for someone with compassion, patience, and above all, love. Someone who can look past his physical differences and see the incredible companion he truly is. In return, he’ll give you unwavering loyalty, gentle affection, and a daily reminder of what it means to live with courage and joy. If you’re ready to open your heart to a dog who will never stop showing you how beautiful life can be—come meet Bingo. He’s been waiting for you. What is my personality like? Bingo was surrendered into rescue via his breeder. He's had very little life experience in his first 4 years, outside of breeding and living with other dogs. Everything about being a pet is new, but he is learning and learning fast. We think he's ready for the next step - and you are the next step. Bingo isn’t just a dog—he’s a story of strength, survival, and the purest kind of joy. This beautiful soul has faced more challenges in his life than most dogs ever will, but he’s never let those struggles dim his light. Yes, Bingo has a few disabilities—but don’t tell him that. He’s far too busy exploring, learning, and soaking up every bit of knowledge he can find. Bingo came into rescue with a long road behind him. The kind that would make most give up—but not Bingo. He has shown time and time again that resilience isn’t just a trait; it’s who he is. Every step he takes is proof that hope can triumph, even when the odds say otherwise. He may move a little differently, or see the world in a way that’s uniquely his, but he doesn’t ask for pity. What he does ask for is someone to see him—not just his needs, but his boundless curiosity, his warm heart, and his eagerness to be part of something bigger. A family. A home. And if you have dogs - even better. Bingo loves other dogs. Whether it’s sharing a sunbeam, playing with a gentle friend, or simply being part of a pack, Bingo blossoms in the company of canine companions. He finds comfort and confidence around other dogs and would thrive in a home with a furry sibling to show him the ropes and share in life’s little joys. Bingo is endlessly inquisitive. Whether it’s a new smell on the breeze, the sound of a crinkly toy, or just your voice talking to him kindly, he lights up with interest. Life, to Bingo, is a never-ending adventure waiting to be discovered. How do I act when I first meet new people? Bingo is cautious and may not approach you right away (bring treats). When meeting new people, it’s important to give him time and space to adjust to the situation. After a few minutes, he will typically allow a sniff of you hand. Bingo needs to move at his own pace and build trust in his own time. Other tips and tidbits: Bingo's' birthday is 3/19/2021 Bingo is still mastering the "take treats nicely" procotol. We toss them to him a lot. He likes that, too. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.
