Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie. Desi lived her entire life as a breeding female in a commercial breeding facility. Not used to human touch, and being forced to live with other dogs whether she liked them or not has taken a toll. Desi is slowly coming around. She needs time, love and patience from a human that is compassionate and understanding. This is truly rescuing a dog. Desi would do best as an only dog and with time and reassurance, Desi will learn to love. Will you be that one human to give her this chance? Our thorough adoption process is designed to ensure that each furry friend finds the perfect match based on their unique needs and personalities. Please know that we do not rush this process, as we prioritize compatibility over speed. Your patience and understanding as we work towards finding the ideal match for both our rescues and your family mean the world to us. Our applications can be found at .onedogatatime.us. Please watch for a welcome email so we can process your application. Cresson, PA Kennel License #18167

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
