Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Hey! Meet Logan! What a cutie who now will have the life he deserves! Logan lived his life outdoors on a large property with a group of other dogs but has settled in to the good indoor life with his foster family. I mean, how comfy? Logan is a friendly and happy boy who loves dogs and loves to play. He now enjoys a soft couch and loves walks, hikes, all that fun stuff! He is 33 lbs and stocky in build and a young adult of age 3. He has a blocky head and sad eyes, and they only make him more adorable. From his foster family: Logan is a sweetheart of a boy! Logan likes: - lack of personal space - going for walks - playing fetch - burrowing under the covers/blankets - having his people nearby and staying close to them - eating dinner - talking to the neighbor dogs - getting excited and playful - giving hugs and kisses - checking out available food on the counters - to let you know he loves and trusts you with "love bites" Logan dislikes: - the oversharing of his person and their lap - listening to other dogs' opinions - new, surprising outfits on his human friends - being too far away from his person - the trimming of his nails - "crying" from mild allergies Logan does well with other dogs and is working to improve his listening skills with his dog friends. He has not been observed around cats but has had unfenced, supervised access to our chickens and leaves them alone. He has learned a lot in SGA's care and does well with most common commands and crates easily for when we leave the house. He also does well with loud noises and isn't overly afraid of fireworks. He would do best in a calm, structured home with older (or no) children as he might be too rambunctious/jumpy for smaller children. He has a pure, loyal, happy, and energetic heart that would make a great addition to your family/household. Logan is neutered, vaccinated and chipped. His adoption fee is $450. Our adoption application and Logan’s profile are available on our website savinggreatanimals We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at .savinggreatanimals and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
