COCO - 1 1/2 years old, 100+ pounds, crate & house trained, playfuL Coco is a big girl who was surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. She is smart, active, and loves to be with her family so much so that after a few hours alone she may start to feel anxious. She is the dog who will come to you and stare until she gets attention. Why are you not petting her yet? HAHA Coco will roll over for you to rub her belly. She loves attention! Coco is playful and loves all types of dog toys. We don't yet know how she feels about other dogs so bring yours in for a meet and greet and let's see! *Please remember we strongly encourage constant supervision when it comes to the doggos in your home. *She has recently had her cherry eye repaired and it has healed so wonderfully!! Coco is currently in our large dog adoption kennel so come on out to meet her! We are located at 341 S Birdneck Road and open daily 12-5 pm.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
