Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Meet Espresso. This tall, goofy boy is ready to step into your heart and never leave! He is devilishly handsome with a curly tail that draws the paparazzi to him (they just can’t get enough pictures!). In addition to his looks, this boy is smart as can be. He knows all his basic commands and is food motivated, making training him easy! He loves nothing more than to chew a toy in your lap, watch deer in the woods. He is incredible with other dogs, too, and tolerant of different play styles. Car rides are his jam and he won’t even make a noise in the car- he just loves to look out the window. Given his young age and breed, his energy level is medium to high. He requires a decent amount of activity and enrichment. He enjoys walking and playing with other dogs. In fact, he actually would do best in a home with another playful dog as he just adores them so much. He’s such a good boy with a heart of gold ready to make a family complete.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
