Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 200. Introducing the most beautiful lady in all the land, Stacy! This sweet older gal is the one you've been waiting for. The best part of her day is being near her people, whether it be going out on an adventure or lounging on the couch. She's a sweet and gentle soul who welcomes all the love from anyone who wants to give it. She's wonderful with cats, does excellent in a crate, and enjoys car rides and going on walks. Despite being around 8 years old she has plenty of pep in her step, and at around 40 lbs she's the perfect size for cuddling. If you're looking for an addition to your family who's willing to go wherever you go and will be loyal to the end, Stacy is your girl. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
