Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Adoption Fee: 400. Capt Pantaloon is the cutest 10 month old mixed breed puppy. He has long fur on his ears so we think he might have some spaniel in him but who knows! Walker and his sister Ellie were found in a very rural area covered in a horrific case of demodex. Walker's case was much better than Ellie's and his fur has grown back now. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please fill out this link for the application: toolkit.rescuegroups/of/f?c=SGVJMGQY. His adoption fee is $400 but because he is our 2nd longest running dog in foster care for reasons unknown to us we are reducing it to $200!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
