Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 50.00. Meet Piper! Piper is a beautiful purebred Pit Bull spayed 6 year old female. She is crate and house trained, good with young children. She currently does well being crated for 4-6 hours. She would need to be the only dog in the household as she is dog aggressive, that being said no kitties in her future either. She currently has a fenced yard for exercise as she does not do well on a leash. Her current owners would like to see her go to a home where she will have more space and time with her humans. She does have some anxiety and takes medication prior to vet visits, bathing and home nail trimming. Occasional seasonal allergies(itching) treated with Zyrtec. She has previously had successful bilateral knee surgery and is currently healthy. She is much loved and cared for and her present family is hoping for the right situation to come along for her. Piper is not a Rose's Rescue dog, we are posting her in hopes of helping her family find her a new home. her adoption fee will be $50. She is located in the Cuyahoga Falls 44221 area. Please contact Emily (text) 330-690-2954 for more information on Piper.

Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
