This handsome boy came to us as an owner surrender, and not long after arrival, we discovered he was heartworm positive. But Monk took it like a champ. After months of treatment, rest, and way too many plush toy casualties, Monk is now officially heartworm-free and ready to start his next chapter. Monk doesn’t just love his stuffies—he needs them. He carries them around the yard like prized possessions, and having one in his mouth on walks actually helps him slow down, take a breath, and enjoy the world around him. With a toy by his side, Monk takes time to feel the breeze and smell the flowers—he’s a little poetic like that. He’s currently waiting on his neuter and a full behavioral assessment, including a dog test to see how he feels about potential playmates. But one thing’s already clear—this guy is full of life, love, and a whole lot of heart.
