Description
Dog Breed: American Bulldog (short coat). Hey, if you adopt me, it would be like winning the lotto. In addition, the odds are against me since there are a lot of us pooches around ! It would be great if I could get a second chance for a loving home. Yeah, I was dumped in the country and that is how I landed in the clink. Ok, I'm going to get this fertility problem taken care of so I can play the dice without any consequences! Aren't I just a beautiful boy but no minnie me's running around! It will be like hitting the jackpot if you pick me! Here is what the staff has to say about me: Chance just wants to be loved. He is such a mellow boy, he gets over looked. He is social and he gets along with other dogs. He is a smart boy too. He is about 5 years old and weighs 47 lbs. He will make someone a great companion! Please call Faustina at 806-664-1615 since she can give you details about the animals! If you call the Pampa animal shelter please refer to the animals by their number listed after the names. Thank you for you cooperation!

Breed overview

American Bulldog
Overview:
Originally used in the 17th century for bull baiting—a wagering sport in which dogs fought bulls in a ring—Bulldogs had taller, more athletic frames (much like the Olde English Bulldogge). When bull baiting was outlawed in 1835, Bulldogs were bred to be kinder, heavier and more relaxed. However, American Bulldogs—which were brought to the U.S. before this breeding pattern—retained the size and strength of the original Bulldogs. Great family dogs, American Bulldogs are sweet to children. They love family-oriented occasions and want to be involved. With proper training and socialization, you’ll find them outgoing and exceedingly loyal. Some American Bulldogs will go to great lengths to protect their masters. Tough and determined, American Bulldogs have an impressive stamina and strength. They are always game for playtime in the back yard or working in the field.
