Description

Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Adoption Fee: $375. **Tune in to our Facebook page (Great Pyrenees Rescue Society - GPRS) every Sunday at 3pm CT to see our dogs LIVE! You can also find previous episodes on our YouTube channel (gprspyrs). If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at infogreatpyreneesrescuesociety** Fiona is a beautiful Great Pyrenees girl who has the fluffy looks of a fairytale guardian, but she’s refreshingly quiet for a Pyr—she’s much more interested in being the household sweetheart than the household watchdog. While her foster brother is committed to his self-appointed role as the neighborhood security system, Fiona prefers to keep things classy—no barking, no ruckus, just pure, refined floofiness. Fiona’s foster family swears she’s one of the happiest, most affectionate dogs they’ve ever met, evidenced by a tail that never stops wagging. Born around February 2023, this sweet girl adores people, and she’ll happily nudge your arm with her head when she’s ready for some love (which is...pretty much always). Forget the usual Pyr paw; Fiona prefers the head bump method to remind you that belly rubs are overdue. This gentle girl is a model housemate—house trained, respectful of furniture, and she doesn't chew up your favorite shoes when she’s left alone. Fiona has the kind of serene presence that makes you wonder why people chase chaos when they could just have a Fiona. While her foster dog brother would love to entice her into playtime antics, Fiona politely declines, preferring instead to observe the action from a comfy spot. That means she may thrive as an only dog or with a similarly relaxed canine companion. She coexists peacefully with cats (she mostly considers them part of the scenery), and she has shown patience and grace with the neighbor kids who’ve stopped by for brief visits. Although Fiona is an affectionate girl, she may be a bit shy when you first meet her. When Fiona initially came to her foster home, she was a shy and timid soul, but with patience and gentle encouragement, she has blossomed into the gentle, affectionate pup her foster family adores. Her future family should be ready to offer that same patience, knowing that beneath her initial caution is a heart absolutely brimming with love and quiet loyalty. If your idea of the perfect dog is a low-drama, high-fluff lovebug who politely demands snuggles with a head bump instead of wild paw slaps, Fiona just might be your soulmate.
