Description
Dog Breed: Pug / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300. We love Grin's crooked smile and his super-soft fur. Grin is about 8 years old and currently a bit over 16 pounds. He loves people and is super affectionate with his person; he loves to cuddle and would like a home where he is allowed in the family bed. That said, he is not needy and he is crate trained and will sleep quietly all night in his crate. Grin seems like a cross between a Puggle (Pug/Beagle) and another breed. He has some of the looks of a Puggle, but not all. Grin lives with 3 other dogs and is great with them. He plays well with his foster sisters and respects the senior dog in the house. He would do fine with other dogs, or as an only dog. He is house trained and knows how to use a dog door. Grin walks well on leash and is great on neighborhood walks where other dogs are also on leash. He will bark at off-leash dogs that run towards him, his foster is working on this and he is doing very well, but he would not at this time do well in off-leash dog parks. He is fine meeting new dogs in his home or their home, and has made friends with some dogs he has met on walks (the key is when their people give him treats). Grin would be fine in a home with older, dog-savvy kids. He is fine with visiting children. If you are looking for love, Grin may be the guy you are looking for. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Grin is $300. If you are interested in adopting Grin, please complete our online adoption application at .gratefuldogsrescue/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. See our other available dogs at .gratefuldogsrescue/available-dogs/

Breed overview
                            Overview:
The Puggle, a charming cross between a Beagle and a Pug, originated in the 1980s as a designer breed in the United States, quickly gaining popularity for its unique blend of traits. Physically, Puggles typically sport a sturdy, muscular build with a short, smooth coat that comes in various colors, often resembling the Beagle's tri-color or the Pug's fawn with a black mask; their floppy ears and expressive eyes are unmistakable. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, affectionate, and generally good-natured, inheriting the Beagle's playful curiosity and the Pug's laid-back charm, though they can possess a stubborn streak. This makes them excellent family pets, adaptable to both houses with yards and apartment living, provided they receive regular exercise. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions like hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, and respiratory issues, common in their parent breeds, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
